Patent family members are patents which claim at least on common priority. This definition becomes more complex in case of extended families and the analysis of patent families becomes more tedious and time consuming. The Patent Lens databases provide the nice representation in table and chart format for analysis of their association with priority claims. The pictorial representation is given below.
